Mira Costa’s girls basketball team fell to North High School in the Battle At The Beach Tournament at Redondo Union on Friday. The score was really close throughout the game, but ultimately Costa lost. The score was not available at the time of publication.
Costa started off slow in the first quarter, but were neck and neck at the end of the second quarter. During the third quarter, both teams kept fighting, until Costa lost energy. Costa was unable to in the fourth quarter and Costa won the game.
“As a whole I think that the team played relatively okay but there is still a lot we need to work on,” Chao said. “It is unfortunate that lots of my teammates, including myself, are recovering or have sustained injuries from the pre-season, but we are slowly building up to our potential.”
Costa’s overall record is now 1-2. The Mustangs will play their fourth game of the Battle At The Beach Tournament on Saturday at Redondo Union High School against St. Anthony High School.
“For the next game, we will be practicing our press to make it a lot harder to beat,” senior Allie Navarette said. “As well as practicing our plays as we have so many that players tend to forget them sometimes.”
