Mira Costa’s boys soccer team took on cross town rivals El Segundo on Tuesday at Waller Stadium, earning their second victory of the season with a 3-1 win. Goals came from senior forward Kevin Glasser and junior midfielder Alex Desousa.
The Mustangs scored the first goal of the game, but the Eagles were able to equalize the score to 1-1. Costa proceeded to score one more goal before halftime, and another in the second half leading to the 3-1 victory.
“We played really well today and we were able to close the first half strong,” Desousa said. “My teammates set me up nicely for my goal and I was just able to do my job and finish. I was also really happy with how our team gave full effort the entire match”
The Mustangs, now 2-0-1, next play Torrance High School in an away match on Thursday. According to Desousa, the team wants to continue rolling after two straight wins.
“After winning 3-1 and 3-0, I think the team is really confident in what we can do,” Desousa said. “We look forward to a great matchup with Torrance where we can really showcase our skills.”
