Mustang football tramples the Olympians

On Nov. 5, the Mira Costa Mustangs beat the Leuzinger Olympians 32-0 in a senior night special.

The Mustangs started off very strong and had a 15-0 lead at half time. Senior JR Tavai contributed an early touchdown catch in the first quarter and senior Brendan Sofen added three field goals.

The Mustang’s defense was very strong and did not allow the Olympians any offense. The Olympians were only able to gain 3 first downs in the entire first half.

Seniors Tajee Mobley and Deon Morris each had touchdowns in the second half. Sofen finalized the score with another field goal in the third quarter to sum up the blowout.

The Mustangs visit the Redondo Union Sea Hawks Nov. 12 to close out the Bay League season. They will try to defend their three-year undefeated Bay League record.
