The Manhattan Beach Police Department’s drug dogs searched Costa’s campus last week as part of their routine searches.

Costa Security Lead Ray Lee said that the drug dogs search campus either once or twice a month, depending on what administration feels is necessary for student safety.
“Drug dogs create a deterrent for students to bring drugs and alcohol on campus,” Lee said. “By no means will the drug usage stop, but the dogs makes campus an unfriendly place for kids to bring drugs.”
