Macgregor used a variety of materials throughout the show as some of the pieces were completed with spray paint on paper while others were painted on wood. One piece that hung from the ceiling depicted a figure painted onto a transparent piece of plastic and another was painted onto a skateboard. Using different materials further showed Macgregor’s fresh perspective and style.
Not only was Macgregor’s artwork well executed, it also conveyed a series of interesting and relevant themes. Many of the pieces had sayings on them such as, “For Sale,” and “Down With the System.” These phrases along with the figures communicated a rebellious and powerful attitude which was a consistent theme throughout the exhibit that worked to successfully express the emotions of the artist.
