The Mira Costa girls volleyball team defeated Westlake in the first game of CIF playoffs. The game took place at home in the Fisher Gym on Nov. 9. The Mustangs’ overall record is now 21-9.
“We stepped up our game and finished the match with tough serving and a great sideout performance,” head coach Lisa Zimmerman said.
The Mustangs won in five games with scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-16, and 25-12. Seniors Jace Pardon and Ella Rosenfeld led the team with 10 kills each.
The Mustangs will move on to the next round and play on Nov. 11 against the winner of San Clemente vs. Millikan match. The location of the match has not been determined yet.
