The Mira Costa Drama Department’s annual Holiday Benefit show took place on Dec. 6 in the Drama Room.
The benefit consisted of a variety of student performances, including monologues, songs, scenes and dances. Each performance followed the benefit’s holiday theme.

“We worked hard to make the show as well-rounded as possible,” Holiday Benefit producer and senior Katie Cochran said. “We included a little bit of everything.”
The Drama Department requested that audience members make a $5 donation at the door of the event. According to Cochran, the benefit raised approximately $700 toward the Drama Department’s Adopt-A-Family program that allows volunteers to collect money and purchase gifts for less fortunate families.
“By giving [students] the opportunity to perform at this show, they can also help others that are less fortunate, which will make them feel good, especially during the holidays,” Drama teacher Carol Matthews said.
