If one went to Nobu or Pitfire without posting a picture of it did it really happen? For Costa sophomore Liam Barberi, it did not happen unless he posted it on his food Instagram, @liamlunch.
Barberi created the account in April 2016, as he loved eating appetizing foods, so he made an account where he could share his most tasty treats and meals. He drew his inspiration for his username, @liamlunch, from Costa alum Carson Hart’s food account, @carsonhartcrunch. Barberi currently has 261 followers and 57 posts of aesthetically pleasing cuisine.
“I enjoy having a food account because I find it really cool to look back after a few months and see all the satisfying food I have eaten and all of the fun restaurants I have gone to,” Barberi said.
Although he mostly posts classic and common foods such as a cheese quesadilla with guacamole, he also posts grandiose foods such as a cookie sundae from the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory in San Francisco. Even though Barberi has never taken photography classes, his pictures capture the food, making them enticing manner.
“My favorite things to post about are In-N-Out burgers and Pitfire’s smothered cookies,” Barberi said. “My favorite post thus far has been one from Mama D’s. I loved how I was able to capture the entire layout of the table and all of the food from the pasta to the bread rolls.”
Barberi posts on his account whenever he eats a tasty meal, so sometimes there could be a one or two week period without any posts, he said. After he takes the picture of the food, he edits it with the editing app VSCO using the C1 effect to enhance the quality of the picture.

“Liam’s account is aesthetically pleasing because he posts a variety of foods so his feed is really diverse and intriguing,” follower and Costa sophomore Lucy Rigler said. “I usually want to go out and order the food that Liam posts about because the way he edits the picture makes the food look really tempting.”
Barberi once made homemade avocado toast and posted it on his account, but did not like the way it looked on his page. Therefore, he resolved to only post pictures about food he eats out in public. Additionally, Barberi may consider changing his account to a healthy account because he wants to showcase that healthy foods can still be appealing, he said.
“I plan to keep my account for a while,” Barberi said. “So, in the future I think it would be cool to be a food reviewer and go to a restaurant only to try a certain food,” Barberi said.
