The Mira Costa Mustangs performed for a large crowd on Nov.10 in the opening round of CIF against Ayala with a win.
The Mustangs started slowly, allowing Ayala to keep the game close with a score of 6-3 by the end of the first period. The team pulled away in the second quarter, however, and finished with the final score at 15-7.
The top performers of the game were seniors Julian Monk and Jake Miller. Both Miller and Monk scored four goals in the game.
The Mustangs next game is on Nov.12 at home against La Canada. The Mustangs have already played this team this season. In the first encounter, the Mustangs lost by one goal. The Mustangs will seek a win to continue their CIF play.
