The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the Los Angeles and Ventura counties in southwest Los Angeles on Sunday evening, and is expected to continue until Monday evening.
The warning stated that strong storms and several thunderstorms throughout Sunday evening and Monday will generate heavy rainfall for the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The flash flood watch was issued at 8:11pm on Sunday night, and will continue until 6pm on Monday.
“PEAK RAINFALL RATES OF 0.50 TO 1.00 INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES… WHICH CAN PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING TO ANY AREA… ESPECIALLY FOR THE RECENT BURN AREAS,” stated the report issued by the National Weather Service.
