The magic of Disney recently enchanted junior Phillip Wah, as he was accepted to attend the prestigious Disney Dreamers Academy to explore his passions and help determine his future.

Disney Dreamers Academy is held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida over four days where students have the opportunities to work with professionals through various workshops and mentor sessions. Wah is one of the 100 students between ages 13 to 19 that Disney chose out of 10,000 applicants nation-wide to participate in the pro-gram.

“When  I  found  out  I  was  accepted  into  the  program,  I was really surprised,” Wah said. “I worked really hard on my application, but you can never just expect to be accept-ed into an extremely competitive program like this one.”

The program accepted Wah on Dec.15 after he wrote two short essays on two topics: the applicant’s experiences that shaped his life and the dreams and events that shaped the applicant’s  outlook  on  life. Costa  senior  Ronald  Clinton supported Wah throughout the entire process of writing the essays after attending the program last year. Clinton said that he was elated when he learned that Wah would be participating in the same program he did.

“I hope that through this experience, I can discover more opportunities for myself and create a future that will one day make my goals a reality,” Wah said.

Wah was accepted to the program on December 15, when a list of accepted applicants was posted to the Disney Dreamers Academy website, and was one of the 1% of applicants to be accepted. Clinton, who supported Wah throughout the whole process, was elated when he learned that his friend would get to participate in the program.
