The Mira Costa Mustangs won the Bay League title and stayed undefeated for their third straight season, beating the Redondo Seahawks 25-0.
Mira Costa’s defense was once again strong and dominant. They kept the opposing team scoreless for the second straight game. Redondo did not have a single first down throughout the entire first half.
Senior running back Deon Morris once again ran the ball efficiently. He scored an early touchdown and ran the ball nearly every play. Senior kicker Brendan Sofen added three field goals and senior Tajee Mobley ran in a 1-yard touchdown, making it a 23-0 score at halftime. Costa scored two more points from a bad snap into the back of the end zone, which resulted in a safety.
Costa now enters CIF playoffs with their first game at home Nov. 19.
