Mira Costa math teach Linda Gesualdi created the Coffee, Tech and You program at the Manhattan Beach Joslyn Center, in order for Costa students to assist senior citizens in utilizing technology throughout the school year.
Gesualdi has been working with students to assist senior citizens in using technology since 2009. She offers this community service to her Advanced Placement calculus BC class as a replacement to the after-AP test project in class.
“I wanted to make a connect between the youth in the community and the senior citizens,” Gesualdi said. “The youth is the future and the senior citizens have valuable stories and lessons to teach, while students can help the seniors citizens with something unfamiliar to them such as technology.”
