Throughout her four years playing for Mira Costa’s girls basketball team, senior Allie Navarette has scored a total of 1500 points.
Navarette reached 1,500 while playing in a home loss against Redondo Union High School on Jan. 24. She currently leads the Mustangs team through each game with an average of 13 points per game.
“I feel very proud of myself for achieving this goal,” Navarette said. “I’ve been working towards this for four years so finally getting it my senior year at home was an amazing feeling.”

Navarette plans on attending college on a full scholarship and pursuing a career in psychology. She is currently deciding which school to go to, and wants to keep her options private. She still has the potential to score even more points this season.
“Basketball is my everything; it’s been my place to escape from reality and Fischer gym has become my home,” Navarette said. “Basketball has taught me so much about myself and I truly would not be me without it.”
