The girls tennis season came to a close on Nov. 13 with a loss to University in the second round of CIF. The Mustangs ended with an overall record of 13-6 in the regular season, 5-3 in Bay League.
“Finishing second in Bay League was great, but we would have loved to have made it further CIF,” coach Joe Ciasulli said.
Sophomore Maegan Manasse won the Bay League individuals and went 68-1 overall.
“I am so proud of Maegan. To go 68-1 in one season is absolutely remarkable,” Ciasulli said.
Senior Taylor Mahr played number-two singles and finished the season at 40-12.
“I’m happy I was able to play singles this year. Although my injury kept me out of Bay League singles, it was fun watching everyone else compete. I will miss this team greatly,” Mahr said.
The doubles pairs for the Mustangs were senior Laura Derian and sophomore Hanna McGuire, seniors Sara Derian and Alex Vand, and junior Erin Murphy and sophomore Ava Klein.
“It’s been a great four years and I’ll miss everyone. I know they will do great in the coming years, and I wish them them the best of luck,” Sara Derian said.
