Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse lost to Glendale High School 8-13 on Tuesday playing away at Glendale. The team was lead by junior Charlie Manley who helped Costa’s offensive push with a team high of three goals.
Other offensive contributors included junior Gabby Baker and senior Kelli Mark who each ended the night with two goals. Manley said that the Costa’s superiority came from the midfield but in order to get better they are going to have to work on passing and defense.
“The strong points in our game definitely came from our midfield,” Manley said. “However if we want to improve our results passing and the defense is going to have to get much better.”
Costa, now 0-1 overall, will take on El Segundo High School on Thursday playing away at El Segundo. Manley said that it was a very even game but the team has a lot to work on if they want to find themselves walking away with wins.
“Overall as a team we played fairly well considering it was our first game,” Manley said. “However in order to win games going forward we have a lot to improve on.”
