Mira Costa’s boys tennis team defeated West Torrance High School in a home game on Thursday. The top players were junior Evan Fortier, senior Tommy Kendall, and sophomore Kyle Sillman.

Costa continued to dominate pre-season with another successful game. Fortier won his two sets 6-4 and 6-0 and Kendall won two sets 6-4 and 6-1 in their singles match. Sillman and his partner sophomore Alex Fry won both their sets 6-0.

“I really liked our drive and I love seeing that from the freshman,” Kendall said.

The Mustangs, now 3-0 overall, will next play against Loyola on Tuesday at home According to Kendall, the team doesn’t mind the result of the game, as long as the team leaves everything out there and gives it 120% effort.

“I have great confidence in our team that we will compete our hardest and hopefully the result will go our way,” Fortier said.
