Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse won against El Segundo High School 6-1 on Thursday playing away at El Segundo.  The team was lead by senior Kelli Mark who helped Costa’s offensive push with two goals.

Other offensive contributors included junior Charlie Manley and sophomore Avery McCarty who each ended the night with two goals as well. Junior Jamie Averch said that the Costa’s dominance in the game came from good communication and great passing on offense.

“Overall we were communicating and getting the ball down field really effectively,”  Averch said.  “Aso it was great to see that we were able to finish a lot of out offensive chances and maintain possession in the other team’s half.”

Costa, now 1-1 overall, will take on Agoura High School on Wednesday away at Agoura.  Averch said that this next game will not be easy and the girls are going to have to focus and work hard this week in training.

“Compared to El Segundo our next match will definitely be more difficult,” Averch said. “We are going to have to take advantage of our practices next week and put in all a lot of effort and work to make sure we get the result we want.”
