Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse was defeated by Crescenta Valley High School 4-10 on Friday at Waller Stadium.  The team was lead by sophomore Kelli Mark who helped Costa’s offensive push with two goals.

Other offensive contributors included sophomore Sydney Whitcombe and sophomore Avery McCarty who both had one goal.  Junior Micaela Tomaro said that she was proud of her team for giving it their best effort.

“Overall I was really proud of our team’s effort during the game,”  Tomaro said.  “You could tell by being out on the field, that everyone was giving it their all.”

Costa, now 3-4 overall, will compete in the LA-OC shootout girls showcase on Saturday at Laguna Hills High School.  Tomaro said that the team is looking forward for the games over the weekend and hope to do well.

“We are all looking forward to the tournament this weekend,” Tomaro said. “It will be a great opportunity for us as a team to show that we can compete and see how we compare against other teams.”
