Mira Costa Girls Beach Volleyball team defeated Santa Monica High School 2-0 Tuesday at Marine Street in Manhattan Beach. Top performances from Alexia Inman and Maddie Micheletti contributed to the Mustangs effort.
According to Inman, they were efficiently passing the ball which helped their offense and allowed them to score more points. Once the game progressed their defense improved and they used their strengths to win the game such as serving and passing.
“I thought we played well and it was a huge improvement from yesterday even though Palos Verdes, the team we played yesterday was weaker,” Micheletti said. “Today the competition was much better and Santa Monica is one of the better teams we will see throughout the season.”
Costa now 2-0 overall will compete against the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday at Dockweiler. Micheletti said that they are working on their serve receive, communication, blocking, and defense for the next game.
“All of our teams were tested, but we played really solid and we beat all of the Santa Monica Teams in two games,” Inman said.”
