The festival allowed students to compete against other drama programs from around the state.

“I’m so proud of the work Costa put into our performance,” junior Toby Kamish said. “The awards we received display our dedication to what we do, and I hope the program continues to do this.”

Each participating high school was able to compete in one tech category and one design category.

“We participate in every category that there is,” senior Claire Layden said. “Our musical cut this year is not a number from our actual musical, because we figured that a number from a different show would showcase our talents more.”

The Drama Department has begun preparation for its upcoming spring musical, “Oklahoma!,” which opens on April 21. “Oklahoma!” tells the story of the love affairs of cowboys and farmers living in Oklahoma Territory. The cast has been rehearsing two to three times a week since January.

“We are all excited for the play,” Drama President Isabel Gray said. “We have been working very hard, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
