Mira Costa’s boys golf team defeated Culver City High School 193-235 on Wednesday at Alondra Golf Course, with a top performance from senior Jack Raney.
Towards the beginning of the match, the score was kept close by Culver City. The Mustangs were able to turn it on however, and with a low score of 36 from Raney came away with the win. According to Junior Connor Bergin, the team did an excellent job of focusing in on the match.
“It is always important to have the whole team locked in, and I think that we accomplished that today,” Bergin said.
The Mustangs are currently 1-0 overall. The team will play Culver City High School again on Thursday at Chester Washington Golf Course. The team is looking to try to make it two wins out of two, Bergin said.
“We did an excellent job in the first game, and now we just have to carry it over,” Bergin said. “If we come out with confidence and do what we need to do we are going to be 2-0.”
