Mira Costa’s baseball team won 7-1 in an away game against Palos Verdes. The team’s top performances were from sophomore pitcher Christian Bodlovich and sophomore second baseman Dylan Dennis.
Costa gained the lead in the first inning with a 3-0 score. Bodlovich pitched six innings with a total of eight strikeouts for the team. By playing well offensively they were able to remain in the lead, only allowing one run.
“Today we really played a complete game,” Bodlovich said. “We were able to hit the ball and successfully move runners over.”
The Mustangs now 9-5 overall will play against Palos Verdes at a home game on Friday the 14th. They will work on keeping a strong defense during the game according to Dennis.
“I think for the game on Friday we just are looking to build on the things we did well today,” Dennis said. “We are just looking forward to going out there and competing again and hopefully coming away with the sweep.”
