The Mustangs continued the strong start to their season with a 2-1 victory against Bishop Montgomery on Dec. 8, bringing the Mustangs’ record to 3-0-2.
“I thought that this was a whole team effort and that we played a great, physical game,” coach Patty Perkinson said.
The game remained a stalemate into the second half of play until senior Kendall Richter scored on penalty kick. The shot brought the score to 1-0. However, the Mustangs were unable to hold the lead as Bishop Montgomery evened up the score at 1-1 after a penalty kick. Sophomore Kara Enomoto scored the eventual game-winning goal.
“I was happy that I could redeem myself and help the team win,” Enomoto said.
The team played against Marina yesterday but results were unavailable at the time of publication. They will play in the South Tournament on Dec. 11.
