The Friendship Circle Club went on their annual field trip to Disneyland on April 26 with their club members and advisors to bring their club members together.
Friendship Circle is a club that brings general and special education students together in order to bond, eat lunch, participate in school activities and play games. The Friendship Club has gone to Disneyland for the past ___ years.

“The trip and bodies with Friendship Circle is all about creating friendships built on a foundation of acceptance mutual respect trust and sharing common interests.” Friendship Circle advisor Stephanie Giacchetti said.
Friendship Circle does this field trip in order to find a place that students from all different backgrounds can get something enjoyable out of, which they find at Disneyland, according to Giacchetti. Disneyland is a place where students can build memories together and courage each other to step out of their comfort zones and a chance to feel uninhibited by any differences for disabilities they may have, according to Giacchetti.
“The trip is so important because it allows all of the students in the spring to spend the day together and make memories at Disneyland.” Giacchetti said.
The Disneyland field trip brings the club members who go on the trip advisors closer together by interacting and spending time together. According to Giacchetti, the field trip is important because it gives everyone more time to get to know one another and develop a relationship.

“My favorite part was stepping back and watching the friendships that have been nurtured all you’re at lunch blossom at Disneyland,” Giacchetti said. “It shows a growth of a relationship from the entire year.”
Disneyland also offers DAS, disability access pass, which helps students with disabilities the opportunity to go back to rides they want to go on and not wait in the long lines, according to Giacchetti. Students are also able to bring in their own food to the park.

“DAS really is helpful for the special education students because it allows them to go into the park and have fun and not have to worry about anything.” Giacchetti said
According to Giacchetti, at Disneyland, all of the students get to spend a lot of time together and interact in a way that they wouldn’t at school, which creates a deeper connection between students.
“This Disneyland trip is great because it’s a place where the students can build memories together, encourage each other to step out of their comfort zones, and a chance to feel uninhibited by any differences or disabilities they may have.” Giacchetti said.
