Mira Costa’s track and field team competed at El Camino College on Saturday at the South Bay Championship Invitational. Costa was the most notable out of the competing schools, represented by senior Caleb Lllorin first in the 800m race.
This was the Mustangs last meet of the season. The South Bay Champions Invite meet hosted a multitude of schools from all over the South Bay, including West Torrance and Redondo Union High School.
“Overall I think Costa’s performance compared to other teams was superior with many of our athletes coming in top three in their events,” said junior Tony Shar. “We’re all very happy with the finished results.”
The Mustangs now, 4-1, will next compete in the Bay League Preliminaries at home. The next event will take place on Saturday, at 9:00 am.
“It was a very successful meet for Costa,” junior Xavier Court said. “We performed well at El Camino and it well definitely give us a boost going into Bay League Preliminaries next week.”
