Mira Costa’s baseball team defeated La Salle High School 5-2 in a home game on Saturday. A performance from sophomore left fielder Christian Bodlovich helped Costa get a win.
The game was 0-0 until Costa scored five runs at the bottom of the third inning. They shutout La Salle, keeping the score 5-0, when La Salle made two runs in the fifth. The Mustangs hit well according to senior center fielder CJ Shapiro.
“We played pretty well today but there’s definitely room for improvement,” Bodlovich said.
The Mustangs, now 13-7 overall, will play Inglewood High School on Wednesday at Inglewood. The team played very good defense and will definitely want to bring that to their next game, according to Shapiro.
“I’m proud of the way we came out after friday’s loss,” Shapiro said. “Next week I hope we come out with a little more energy than today.”
