“ArcLight Presents..” provides filmgoers a second chance to see previously released films in theaters, featuring a versatile collection of movies and high quality presentations. Select premium perks such as 35mm and 70mm presentations, 3D screenings and exclusive footage further supplement the filmgoing experience.
“ArcLight Presents..” is a year-long series ran and curated by the ArcLight Cinema chains in which previously shown films are brought back to theaters for select screenings across the chain’s El Segundo, Santa Monica, Culver City and Hollywood theaters. Exclusive releases of independent films are often hosted as a part of the series as well.
The series is often split into several “seasons” connected to a central theme. Currently, the series is exhibiting a wide variety of films as a celebration of cinema. Previously, the series has done themed selections such as revivals of classic horror films last October.
The “ArcLight Presents..” series features a massive variety of films, offering fans of any genre a choice to see. Recent Oscar winners including “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Birdman,” action films such as “Mad Max: Fury Road” and comedies including “Mean Girls” are just a few examples of the selection’s versatility. The presentations themselves feature high quality sound and visuals, as the films are screened digitally in high resolution 2K. Select screenings offer additional benefits, displaying films in 3D, 35mm, or 70mm film, as well as Q&A sessions hosted with filmmakers following the screening. “ArcLight Presents..” screenings feature no commercials or trailers, starting directly at the stated runtime. The lack of traditional theatre staple points, such as trailers, coupled with high-quality exhibition gives the showings an atmosphere more akin to a private screening.
The only detractor of the series is that each screening is only offered at one theatre, spreading out the selection between the chain’s multiple locations. This can cause viewers to choose an ultimatum, as “Presents..” screenings often occur on the same night at different theatres.
