In addition to presenting a massive variety of musical performances, Coachella also provides festival goers with a huge sample of foods and flavors to discover in order to refuel before their next concert.
Among the other food stands at Coachella, “Bling Bling Dumpling” impressed with its variety of food options and strong flavors, however it failed to provide efficient service and was very costly, which ultimately diminished the entire experience for customers.
Coachella 2017 hosted over one-hundred different food vendors stationed throughout the festival that offered a diverse range of food genres ranging from pizza slices to vegan options. The pop-up restaurants and booths were located in both the general admission area and the V.I.P. area.
“Bling Bling Dumpling” was among the booths. It was co-founded by Cindy and Pei-yen in order to produce authentic, handmade street food that uses fresh, organic ingredients to make dim sum. Its menu consisted of dumplings, salads and other Chinese and Taiwanese foods.

Compared to the many other vendors in proximity to “Bling Bling Dumpling’s” booth, its menu was extremely diverse and included options for both vegans and omnivores. It offered chicken and pork dumplings in addition to pop corn chicken, spinach salad and tofu. The wide menu ensured that all tastes were accommodated.
The flavors of the food offered at “Bling Bling Dumpling” were delicious and fresh. All of the items on the menu had creative twists, which set the booth apart from others. For example, its pork dumplings were made with a ginger sauce, which added a refreshing twist to a commonly made food.

Despite its enjoyable food, “Bling Bling Dumpling,” failed to impress visitors with its service due to its lack of preparation for the large crowd the booth attracted. It continuously ran out of items on the menu, leaving customers to wait for over a half an hour to eat their food. This lack of organization was upsetting and ultimately diminished the ability for customers to enjoy their meals.
In addition to poor service, “Bling Bling Dumpling” was also extremely overpriced for the small amount of food served. Seven dumplings cost $10 and an order of chicken or tofu cost $13. These steep prices made it difficult to enjoy the food since it was not very filling and cost the customer a large amount of money.
“Bling Bling Dumpling” was a delicious and exciting food option at Coachella, however its lack of organization, poor service and hefty prices made it a poor choice for a festival-goer on a budget.
