Not only can you talk to friends, “like” comments, and view pictures on Facebook, you can now be a part of Mira Costa’s clubs too.

During the last club council meeting, club presidents were informed that a new page is going to be created on Facebook to let club members know what’s going on around campus.Although the club council meetings are informative and necessary, the new Facebook page will simply be a quicker way to for club members and presidents to get more information.

“The Facebook page is efficient because whenever a president needs to know a date or more information they can quickly go online,” ASB member Alec Weaver said.

Principal Ben Dale came up with the idea to create this new Facebook page. ASB agreed with the idea and passed out instructions for the presidents during the recent club council meeting.

“The new facebook requirement should work as long as the clubs actually use their page and look at the group for updated information because facebook can be a good tool to get information out to people easily,” ASB member Riley Thomas said.

The new page on Facebook is not an option; ASB is requiring that all clubs join. With nobody objecting to this idea, club presidents were instructed on how to join the page at the last meeting.

“I think it’s a great idea. Many presidents are going to be happy with the fact that we can look up a date of a meeting and make sure we never miss one,” president of Letters of Love Emily Rogers said.

ASB members hope that these 7 simple instructions will be a perfect way to look up any forgotten information going on about a certain club. The page will include information on club council meetings, important dates, and club days.

“ASB created a list to show everyone how to join. It’s super easy and will only take a few minutes. I think the new Facebook page is a great way to stay organized and informed,” ASB member Carly McPherson said.

All members of a club must be a “friend” or a “fan” of the club they are in. This will allow members in addition to presidents to have easy access to all club information.

“The new page for clubs is accessible for other members of the club, not just presidents. This is good for all vice presidents and treasurers and other key members to clubs,” Vice President of Until There’s A Cure Club Ashley Tucker said.
