Marine biology teacher Mr. Smith takes his class on a field trip to a boat in Long Beach and to Palos Verdes ride pools. Smith stood at the front of the boat to look at the ocean.
Long Beach boat glides over the ocean while students take pictures and search for dolphins and whales. The ocean was calm and smooth but no animals were spotted.

Students look out the windows of the school bus as they are going to the tide pools in Palos Verdes. The drive from Long Beach to Palos Verdes was an estimated 30 minutes.
The school bus arrives to 80° weather in Palos Verdes near the coves. Students and chaperones walked past two benches surrounded by rocks which overlooked the ocean before hiking down to the tide pools.
Purple sea urchins are seen clustered together in shallow water in a tide pool along with sea anemones and various sized rocks. These sea animals were seen scattered along the entire area.
Multiple layers of eroded rock is seen at the tide pools that is filled with multiple species of sea animals. Students and chaperones had to carefully walk up the slippery steps that were covered in moss.
Students and chaperones walk to the edge of the tide pool rocks to look at the deeper water filled with larger sea animals. Waves started to hit the rocks roughly which prevented some students to see the area.
Students walk over to a small cove filled with many rocks that water rushes in and out of. The tide quickly got very high which covered all the rocks on the bottom.
