Cancer Crush finished in second place out of 27 teams after a last-minute donation with a total of $3,790.
Junior Blake Laurita led the team in addition to raising $2,300 on his own.
“I think Relay for Life is important because it unifies many different types of people under a great cause,” Laurita said. “It is very unique in the fact that it combines a fun experience and fundraising to raise awareness for a good cause.”
“Cancer Crush’ has 43 team members and raised money for Relay by reaching out to family, friends, community members and businesses,” Laurita said.
“It was not too challenging to organize a team for Relay because many people are eager to get involved with such a fun event for a great charity,” Laurita said. “Surprisingly, it only took about two weeks to raise the money.”
