On Dec. 11, the Mira Costa girls water polo team played against Esperanza. The Mustangs powered through the game with a 8-7 win. This brings their record to 1-1.
The game stayed close for each period until the very end with the winning goal scored by senior Sarah Christ. Christ made the largest contribution to the win. Counting the game winning goal, Christ scored three of Costa’s eight goals in total. Senior Marissa Purcell also made a great contribution.
The Mustangs will resume games after the holiday. The first game will be at Capo Valley on Jan. 4.
