The Mira Costa hockey team was defeated by the Manhattan Beach Varsity All Stars 2003 club team, 4-0, on Tuesday at the Toyota Sports Center. Goalie Donovan Henry was the top performer of the game for his multiple blocks against the all stars shots.
The Mustangs had remained scoreless throughout the entire game. According to freshman Harry Meisel, the team had struggled to get shots on goal in order to score.
“We need to put more offensive pressure and score more goals so we can achieve a win next time,” freshman Miles Hirsch said.
The Mira Costa hockey team is now 1-5-2 overall and will next face off against El Segundo High School at the Toyota Sports Center on Tuesday in their final game of the regular season. The Mustangs didn’t make the playoffs this season.
“Now that the season is almost over I can really see a connection between many of the guys on the ice when it comes to strategy and in gamplays,” freshman Leslie Meisel said. “We had a very rough season yet we worked through every problem and I hope we end our last game strong.”
