With an outstanding display of character, hit Latin pop artist, Shakira released her latest album “El Dorado” released on May 26 features multiple singers. The album showcases an array of music with impressive rhythmic patterns, lyrics and tone quality.
“El Dorado” consists of thirteen songs and is classified as a pop, Latin Pop and reggae album. Two songs from the album took nearly a year to record. Featured artist are Black M, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Prince Royce, MAGIC! and Carlos Vives.
Shakira celebrates her album release for El Dorado’s with a five song performance, which included two special guests Nicky Jam and Prince Royce. Shakira kicked off her performance with her acoustic version of “Chantaje.”
Shakira’s album had a great contrast of gloomy, upbeat rhythms and electric sounds filled with powerful lyrics about love, relationships and the hardships that are faced. The album was very entertaining due to the heavy bass drops and playful Latin rhythms that captivated its listeners.
Shakira’s music has a nice contrast between loud heavy up beats and tranquil, steady rhythmic patterns. The music has outstanding tone quality, is very enjoyable and has a nice rhythm that is easy to dance to. These qualities enhanced the album and allowed it to sent in a positive direction.
Some songs featured quick rhythmic changes, particularly, “Perro Fiel”, which features the Puerto Rican reggaeton act Nicky Jam. The album’s Hispanic focus allows its star to have some fun, rather than follow North American chart trends, which are very overplayed.
The album has a collaboration with Maluma called “Trap”. The song is a whispery and fuses with spanish R&B rhythms of trap. This song was very contrasting to entire the album but very enjoyable due to the soft tunes instead fast rhythms.
The lyrics in each song have similar thematic topics such as being in love or falling in love with someone. Shakira displays the emotions of being in love with meaningful lyrics and a strong contrast between tones.The lyrics fit the mood of the notes and make the album feel very lively and exciting.
“El Dorado” contains many songs that are enjoyable and sent the album in a positive direction due to an expert composition of music that contained a wide variety of impressive rhythmic patterns, lyrics and tone quality.
