Mira Costa High School’s Associated Student Body organized its annual Stampede Day on Friday, in order to promote school spirit and get students excited for the new year.

All Costa students were encouraged to wear their stampede shirts or other green and gold clothing items. The goal of the event was to start the year off on a fun note and have students looking forward to this year, senior and ASB President Georgia Wedbush said.

“We wanted to promote school spirit and start the year off on an exciting note,” Wedbush said. “We wanted to prepare all students for a spirit filled year.”

ASB felt good about the outcome of the event as they believe it promoted school spirit and got students involved, junior and ASB Treasurer Connor Barnes said. ASB will host several more school spirit oriented events throughout the year.

“I am looking forward to the incredible amount of school spirit throughout this year,” Wedbush said. “I feel like the outcome of this was great and we got a lot of people to join in and participate.”
