Mira Costa’s boys water polo team defeated Peninsula High School 5-3 on September 13 in a home game with a top performance by senior attacker Alex Nahabed.
The Mustangs struggled defensively early in the game, but as the game went on they played better on defense and offense according to senior attacker Colin Le. Costa’s passes were on target and lead to scoring chances.
“We started off the game poorly on defense,” Le said. “But as the game went on we had more chances and scored.”
Costa, now 1-1 overall, will look to come out victorious against Palos Verdes in their second Bay League game on September 18. According to Le, Costa needs to work on starting off the game stronger.
“To be successful, we need to work on starting the game off with more energy and make better passes ,” Le said.
