Hi-Fi Espresso, a brand new addition to the South Bay, provides an indie 70’s atmosphere with its looks, fashion, and overall feel inside the shop. Hi-Fi’s goal, to provide a great start to the day with a cup of coffee, never fails, as its shop is buzzing with customers enjoying their smooth and relaxing cup of joe.

Jeff and Karen Prugh, Redondo Beach natives, opened the coffee shop this year to sell the community quality coffee, kombucha, tea, and pastries. The coffee is from a seller and nurturer in North Carolina called Counter Culture Coffee that the two found while living in New York.

Hi-Fi Espresso is expanding its website to include a shop where people can purchase apparel and accessories, as well as an Instagram account that posts about upcoming specials and events for the shop. Hi-Fi also has a membership program costing $50 a month. Members get a cup of coffee or any drink of their choice every day.

Hi-Fi Espresso’s 1970s vibes make it appealing and intriguing to whoever walks or drives by. The shop has sleek white walls, fresh mason jars filled with juices, kombucha, and other cleansers hanging on a clean wooden shelf. Funky lights and posters that complete the look.

The coffee at Hi-Fi tastes as amazing and fresh as coffee can be. This cup of joe is relaxing, but adding the extra shot of espresso boosts energy and is the perfect way to get the day started.

Hi-Fi Espresso’s menu is pretty hefty considering it is a modest little shop. The menu includes its refreshing daily brew, cold brew, espresso, the pleasurable macchiato, and much more. The foods on the menu include a variety of yummy sandwiches, tasty assorted pastries, granola and creamy yogurt.

Hi-Fi Espresso provides free wifi and peaceful place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Hi-Fi is only 600 square feet, but with the tranquil atmosphere, the shop provides a fabulous experience, even with the lack of space.

All the appetizing food at Hi-Fi is made outside of the building. The food and drinks made from other distributors are extremely fresh as it’s all from California and North Carolina, giving it an extremely local and professional feel with a delectable taste.

Overall, Hi-Fi Espresso impresses with its funky 70s theme and pleasurable coffee, drinks, and foods. It is the perfect quaint coffee shop with healthy ingredients and local SoCal vibes.

Hi-Fi Espresso is open from 7a.m. to 4p.m. everyday and is located at 227 PCH in Hermosa Beach.
