Mira Costa’s cross country team competed in the Woodbridge Invitational in Norco with 33 other schools taking fourth. Performing really well was Xavier Court. Although,This meet would be hard to classify which school won because of the many divisions and competitors coming from all over the country.

These Costa Athletes broke many of their personal records while competing in this race which was a standard course of three miles but not said to have had any school records broken.
Varsity Xavier Court who is a senior got second in his race with a phenomenal time of 14:25.

“I’d say that overall it was a great race for everyone and we showed so much improvement, especially varsity,” Megan Garringer said. “This year, our girls varsity has a lot of younger runners and they’re all working so well together and pushing each other to be better.

The next meet for cross country is September 27th at Columbia Park competing against many schools. This meet is called the South Bay Cup. Although this is a big meet many of the top girls will not be competing in anticipation of the Arizona travel meet.

“I think our freshman and sophomore teams will do well at the next meet. South Bay Cup is a fast, flat course that’s close to home and people always do really well,” Senior Team Captain Annika Hanson said.
