Mira Costa’s boys water polo team defeated Redondo Union High School 12-5 on Wednesday in a home game with a top performance by senior attacker Johnny Escobedo.
The Mustangs struggled defensively early in the game, but as the game went on they exploded on offense according to senior goaltender Paul Matt. Costa was very aggressive and maintained possession of the ball most of the game.
Costa, now 7-3 overall, will look to come out victorious against Foothill in an away game on September 29. According to Matt, Costa needs to work on being aggressive right from the start of the game.
