The Mira Costa girls volleyball team defeated Inglewood High School 3-0 at home on Thursday. Top performers of the match included juniors Riley Hazelrigg and Memphis Glasgow for their numerous kills and passes.
The Mustangs dominated the first set winning 25-6. Costa kept up a high offensive pressure leading them to win their second set 25-7, and continued their success to win the third set 25-8. Junior Amanda McDonald said that their team’s success was because of a few good serving runs.
“We were able to keep our focus on the game even when we were winning by fifteen points” said McDonald.
The Mustangs overall record is currently 4-2 and they will visit Morningside High School next Wednesday. Coach Austin Rester enjoyed the game and is trying to prepare for next week’s game.
“We are trying to get better at the things we are already good at,” Rester said.”We are a pretty good serving team, but we also pride ourselves to work really hard in and out of system volleyball.”
