Mira Costa’s girls tennis team defeated Dos Pueblos High School 13-5 at Dos Pueblos on Friday. Doubles players sophomore Olga Nagy and freshman Kacey Feng went undefeated in their sets to help Costa capture a win.
Costa played the #8 ranked team in Division 2 and the Mustangs were constantly dominating according to coach Joe Ciasulli. Nagy and Feng won 6-2 in their first set and 7-6 in the second. Sophomores Peyton Douglas and Lindsay Giese won three sets 6-2, 6-4, and 6-0. Collectively Costa won six singles sets and seven doubles.
“We played our best and we were really aggressive at the net,” Feng said. “That definitely helped to close out the matches.”
The Mustangs, now 6-3 overall and 1-2 in Bay League, will go head to head with Santa Barbara High School tomorrow at Santa Barbara. They will continue to work on improving their game said Feng.
“Today we all played some of our best tennis,” Feng said. “We just want to keep that up moving forward.”
