Mira Costa’s boys water polo team defeated Peninsula High School 5-4 on Tuesday in a home game with a top performance by junior attacker Troy Gleason.
The Mustangs turned the ball over early, but as the game went on they limited their turnovers and acquired more scoring chances. Costa limited Peninsula’s offense to very few shots and remained tough on defense throughout the game.
Costa, now 8-4 overall, will next play in the South Bay Tournament on Friday and Saturday. According to Le, Costa needs to work on limiting their turnovers right from the start of the game.
