The Mira Costa Mustangs girls’ soccer team participated finished in ninth place in their first tournament of the season, which lasted from Dec. 18 to Dec. 30. The girls ended with a record of 2-1-1.
The lady Mustangs played against Beverly Hills in the first game of the tournament, and lost with a score of 1-0. They then recovered, however, and defeated Louisville with a score of 3-0. The girls defeated the host South Torrance Spartans 1-0. Finally, Mira Costa finished the tournament with a tie against Pacifica by a score of 1-1.
The top performer of the tournament for the Mira Costa Mustangs was sophomore Taylor Foland. She contributed four of the five Mustang goals during the tournament.
Mira Costa now has a record of 8-2-3. They host Chadwick on Jan. 5 in hopes to improve their record.
