Does the US need stricter gun control laws?

Recent events including the Las Vegas shooting have once again brought the issue of gun control laws into public debate. Those who support gun control laws argue that that gun violence would be reduced. Opponents of increased gun control laws believe that guns are imperative for self-defense from a range of threats.

The United States is one of the most advanced countries in the world, yet focuses more on whether or not an NFL player is standing or kneeling during the national anthem than whether or not innocent lives are being taken by gun violence.” stated Dates.

CON: Gun Control is only necessary to a certain extent
