The Mira Costa Girls Water Polo team played Santa Monica High School on Jan. 7 at their home pool. Though the beginning of the game was a bit rocky, the girls pulled out a 9-5 win to improve their record to 8-2.
The youth of the team made significant contributions in Costa’s win against Santa Monica. Sophomore Emily Milstead scored three of the nine goals. Sophomore Sarah Christ seized a five meter free shot to score as well.
The Mustangs host West Torrance High School in their first Bay League game on Jan. 10.
