The Mira Costa Girls Water Polo team hosted West Torrance High School on Jan. 10. The Mustangs defeated Warriors in a 23-3 victory. At the half, Costa substituted in their junior varsity team to play West’s varsity team in order to keep the competition fair.
Although all players, including junior varsity players, made helpful contributions to the team’s win, seniors Victoria Southwood and Marissa Purcell were exceptional and made several goals.
With a 9-2 record, the Mustangs will play at Palos Verdes in their next game on Jan. 12.
