Mira Costa’s boys water polo defeated Ventura High School, 8-5, in their first California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) game on November 2nd at home.
Junior Hudson Carter contributed to Costa’s victory by scoring four goals throughout the game. Senior goalie Paul Matt played incredible defense earning their win, said Carter.
“Our team was very adaptive to Ventura,” Matt said. “They had one phenomenal player and our defense did everything to shut him down.
Mira Costa will face Agoura Hills High School in their second game of CIF playoffs on Saturday, November 4. The team is going to come in fired up and ready to play, according to Carter.
“We need to play to our potential to beat this next team,” Carter said. “Agoura has a very strong offense and we need to utilize their lack of defense as an advantage.”
