The Mira Costa boys soccer team defeated El Segundo high school 4-2 on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at El Segundo high school. The top performers of the match included senior captain Robert Cook for three goals that made Costa’s offense a force to be reckoned with.
The Mustangs dominated El Segundo’s defense scoring four goals. Cook contributed a hat-trick and senior Alex DeSouza finished a goal to lock in Costa’s win. The team forfeited two goals ending the game with a 4-2 win for Costa.
“Although we played well today we let in two goals, so we just need to work on conceding fewer goals,” said junior forward Max Haber.
The Mustangs are currently overall 2-1 and will play Torrance high school on Thursday, Dec. 7 at Torrance high school. The team has had a very promising start to the season due to their success in the El Segundo game, said Haber.
“We dominated ball possession for most of the game and managed to score 4 goals which is awesome,” said Haber
