Mira Costa boys soccer defeated Peninsula high school 5-1 on Thursday, Jan. 11 at home. The top performers of the match included senior captain Robert Cook for his goal and his assist that created a strong offensive force for Costa.
Costa scored the first goal from a cross played across the box by Cook to Josh Gaudiano for a finish. The Mustangs led 1-0 and were able to put four more goals in the back of the net ending, the game 5-1 Costa.
“My favorite thing about being on the boys soccer team is the bonding experience with my teammates,” said senior Will Zhou.
The Mustangs currently have a 7-2-2 overall record and play Palos Verdes high school on Friday, Jan. 12.
“Everyday going out and playing with my friends while also representing Costa is a great feeling and it builds chemistry between us on the pitch,” said Zhou.
